About me
BRIEF BACKGROUND
I was introduced to painting back in 2000 when I participated in an art class for mothers and their children held by the artist Anna Toresdotter. The classes were held on a monthly basis and when my daughter Anna left in 2005 I stayed on as a student.
I guess you can say that I found the passion for painting thanks to my daughter.
I am mostly self-educated and I have been painting actively for the past 13 years. Nowadays I mostly paint in oil and acrylic but I have continuously participated in classes on oil painting, croquis, aquarell and acrylic. Two teachers who have meant a lot to me are Anna Toresdotter and Bo Wetteryd.
In addition to the classes I have also participated in different painting trips.
In 2006 a group of painters traveled to Vence in Provence and in 2007, 2008 and 2010 we went to the Greek island Zachynthos.
My main occupation is in the Bioenergy field and I am a civil engineer specialized in chemical technology. I have lived in Stockholm since 1975 but I grew up in a small village called Kukkola in Tornedalen located in the very north of Sweden.
For me, painting is a very pleasurable experience and I enjoy the challenges I am being faced with while depicting something. It can be a plant pot, a shadow or maybe even something calling from other realms or times.
